The GEOLANDAR X-MT is Yokohama's Off-Road, Maximum Traction tire, a category commonly referred to as mud tires. Designed for the drivers of pickup trucks, full-size SUVs, Jeeps and dedicated off-road vehicles, the GEOLANDAR X-MT provides extreme levels of off-road traction along with aggressive good looks.

The high void tread pattern of the GEOLANDAR X-MT features large, independent tread blocks and is molded from a chip and cut-resistant, Triple Polymer Blend compound. The extra wide tread creates a flat contact patch and helps provide even pressure distribution in the footprint, resisting uneven wear and improving traction on irregular or loose terrain. Massive sidewall lugs on the shoulders seek out available grip in deep soil during aired-down operation and add to the purposeful appearance, while recessed sipes in the tread blocks act as biting edges to provide traction on wet or slick surfaces, including light snow.

GEOLANDAR X-MT tires utilize Yokohama's Geo-Shield™ Construction featuring three polyester body plies wrapped around a strong, hexagonal bead to form the tire's casing. Two high-strength steel belts support the tread and are reinforced by a full-width nylon cap for added durability. The thick rim protector helps defend wheels from on-and off-road damage.

While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the limited number of snow-biting sipes in their large lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.
