The Proxes TQ is Toyo's Drag Racing Radial tire developed for drag racers looking for Top Qualifier performance at the dragstrip from a tire that is streetable. Proxes TQ tires are designed to provide drive-to-the-track-and-back versatility while delivering drag racing looks and traction. However, like all Drag Racing Radial tires, they are not intended to be driven on extremely wet roads with standing water where there is the risk of hydroplaning, or in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

WARNING! As a dual-purpose competition tire, the Proxes TQ is designed with a reduced tread depth and a special tread rubber compound for optimal dry weather traction. Therefore, it is important that you frequently check the available tread depth, because like all competition tires, the Proxes TQ will wear out much sooner and offer less wet weather grip than regular passenger car tires. Never use Proxes TQs, or any tires, on the street if they are worn down to the wear indicator bars, i.e., the available tread depth is no more than 2/32nds of an inch. USE EXTREME CAUTION AND REDUCED SPEEDS WHEN DRIVING WITH THE PROXES TQ IN WET CONDITIONS.

The Proxes TQ molds a drag radial tread compound that maximizes grip at launch. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design with two distinct tread areas optimized for track and street use. A semi-slick inboard area improves traction on independent rear suspension vehicles while still maintaining consistent grip on straight axle rear suspension vehicles. A variable pitch outboard area reduces pattern noise while driving on the street.

The tire's internal construction features drag race construction with a Special Drag-Race Radial Casing that helps enhance performance during the launch by maintaining a large, consistent contact patch for traction throughout a drag run. Twin high-tensile steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped jointless cap and edge plies control the footprint size and shape. Jointless beads anchor the tires to the wheels while a high-modulus bead compound and slightly angled body plies work together to stabilize the sidewall.
