The third manufacturing method "AMF" that realizes weight reduction, strength, design of the disk surface, all at a high level
- At AMF, we first cast the disc surface and then the rim that will be formed. Then, the cast disc = rim material is applied to a wheel-dedicated spinning machine to roll the rim. In this process, the crystals and macrostructure of the more forged aluminum material are further miniaturized, which increases toughness and realizes tenacious strength. The result is a high-rigidity rim that combines the basic performance required of aluminum wheels, such as "tensile strength," "proof stress," and "elongation." In addition, compared to the conventional type in which the plate material is made into a ring by welding, it has become possible to make a highly accurate rim of a seamless tube.
- Since the disc surface of AMF is a conventional casting molding, the rim part is stretched to the minimum necessary thickness by a spinning machine while maintaining the degree of freedom in design, so it is extremely lightweight and reduces the unsprung load. The third manufacturing method that combines the merits of both casting and forging is the "AMF" (advanced metal forming) so-called spinning manufacturing method.
