The name “Mazda” was introduced to Japan in October 1931. Mazda started its life as a cork manufacturer back in 1920. The year 1931 was when Mazda, then called the Toyo Kogyo Co. They have come a long way since their roots manufacturing tricycles and cork and are a staple in the import community. Whether it is the best bang-for-your-buck platform in the Miata or the technologically advanced, rotary powered RX-7, Mazda has great roots in the import community.
