The Radial Wet W2 is Hoosier Racing Tire's Wet Racetrack & Autocross Only tire developed for drivers who participate in autocross and road racing events in moderate to heavy rain.
WARNING: DOT labeled Hoosier Racing Tires meet Department of Transportation requirements for marking and performance only and are NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE. It is unsafe to operate any Hoosier Racing Tire, including DOT tires, on public roads. The prohibited use of Hoosier Racing Tires on public roadways may result in loss of traction, unexpected loss of vehicle control, or sudden loss of tire pressure, resulting in a vehicle crash and possible injury or death. Like all Wet Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Radial Wet W2 radials are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's also essential these tires be stored indoors at temperatures maintained above 32 degrees F.
Hoosier Radial Wet W2 tires feature an advanced wet condition tread compound for autocross and road racing environments. The updated compound is engineered to produce higher levels of traction than its predecessor while delivering the balanced and consistent handling needed for difficult and potentially unpredictable wet competition environments. The updated compound is molded into the same proven directional tread design, featuring aggressive high angle channels and generous circumferential grooves for increased high speed hydroplaning resistance. From the initial tread depth of 8/32" to 4/32" remaining depth, the walls of the tread grooves taper, and as the tire wears below 4/32" the grooves are molded vertically. This allows the Radial Wet W2 to serve as a full wet tire at its original tread depth, or as an intermediate wet tire when worn or shaved to approximately 4/32".
Sports Car DOT Radial Wet W2 tires have a symmetric internal construction and directional tread design that allow them to be mounted for use on either side of the car. The tire's internal structure features a three-ply nylon cord radial casing reinforced by two fiberglass belts and a spirally wound circumferential nylon cap ply under the tread.
